not even sure if i would need a tune or just go AP would be enough. - was thinking going to the bethel tuner or Ivey, but afraid they will just laugh at me
can you guys chime in? -
You will need a tune, AP doesn't have that intake as a option yet IIRC.
You will also want to see a real tuner if you want to get the most out of the car. The tunes Cobb provides have to fit a wide range of cars and as a result leaves a lot on the table.
I made the 4+ hour drive to see Ivey Tuning in NJ a while back (before Kaizen got their slick new Dyno Dynamics) and to be honest, I wasn't that impressed. If I had to do it over again I would have just went to Kaizen which in your case is a much closer drive.
Ivey Tuning is a great shop and Sean is a wicked nice guy so don't read that as me bashing them, nothing but respect for what he can do. My tune was “good” but there deff wasn’t enough effort put into it. Add to that the lack of response when I repeatedly ask for help fixing my over-boosting tune (since day 1), I eventually got fed up.
Bottom line you ask? Call up Kaizen Tuning, talk with them, read around the forums if you doubt their excellence, and then make your choice.
