Im thinkin about doin a turbo swap on my Evo. Gonna go with the HKS GTII and of course all supporting mods. Should I be worried about the SST? I know the stock clutches can only handle so much...should I spend the money on clutch packs or am I just being paranoid? My goals are just over 400awhp, still unknown about how much torque. Any help is appreciated.

If your tuner knows what he is doing as far as feeding in the torque/Power/Boost....no problems. I have the same setup

Awesome thanks for the input. Gonna order everything soon. I'm probably gonna get tuned by Top Speed. I hear their good just gotta find out if the know SSTs.

Just because a shop is good at "Tuning" does NOT necessarily mean they are good at Tuning the SST. Two totally different animals!!

Yea I know, Im gonna be calling them just to make sure. If anything, Ill just take it to Forge, I think they are right next to eachother.

haha I know of this all to well. I was tuned at ams and I made hella power for a ra but they left all my SST tables completely stock and lets just say it slipped a LITTLE!!. ;-)

I think i might only do this if Razorlab was tuning.

People speak of the tuner at AMS as god, im confused, please explain who tuned exactly and when. thanks.

Thanks everybody! This community is the best, always helping noobs like myself. Top Speed deals with a lot of Evos and GT-Rs so I would assume they are proficient at tuning SSTs, but am definately going to call before going. I have some time to wait anyway, 60 day back order on my turbo.
