I have had my car almost 3 months and I just had my first FAIL. I just put on my Speed Circuit UICP and I was all excited to try it out. Soooo, I get on the interstate and go WOT and POP there went my pipe. So I pulled off on the side of the road and looked, apparently I didn't tighten the t-clamps tight enough. Luckily a nice fellow in an STi stopped buy and helped me out. So I tightened them down extra tight and I should be good now.

+1 hair spray

Aside from that, get rid of T-bolt clamps and put on regular worm-gear hose clamps. Put them on properly, just after the bead roll, and you'll never have an issue.

I've installed/uninstalled the UICP more times than I'd care to remember, and every time I reinstall I usually feel around for the bead roll a half dozen times, take the coupler off, look again, get a feel for how far in the coupler is going, where the bead is, etc.

Call it OCD or whatever, but I've never bent an aluminum pipe (that I know of) and I've never had a boost leak (that I know of) and I've never had a coupler pop off (that I do know).

Get some alcohol or a degreaser and wipe down the inside of the coupler and end of each pipe/bead. The hair spray thing DOES work, and its not going to catch on fire. Very common thing to do - google it and youll get a shit load of threads about it.

Thanks guys, I re-tightened it and it seems to be holding up well. If it does come off again I will use hairspray and hopefully after that it will hold up.
