Who plans on keeping theirs and how long? haha. Reason im asking is because a local shop that works on evos asked to borrow mine for a month to make parts for it, and I would be able to keep the parts for free. They have a couple of EVO IX's that are around the 900 HP range. But my X is only a week old, not sure if I want to throw my warranty away that soon, especially with a new motor in the EVO's. Just curious of thoughts...

Thats a tough one. Free parts are always tempting but at the price of a warranty on a new car full of new technological goodies?? That requires some serious thinking which requires you take a walk to the 'John' to sort things out. The best decisions are always made there. Just grab a newspaper and get to work. You will have this sorted out in no time.

I know, im torn. I dont want to void my warranty, but eventually down the road I will because I will modify. But by that time I will have to pay for the parts. But, I am leaning towards holding out because it is a new car, new engine, new electronics, etc... Think I might just wait till HKS comes out with some goodies. haha:rock:

Does anyone know what will void our warranty anyway? Will a simple exhuast, new intake, and upgraded piping void it? Or does it depends on the dealership like it did when I had my Nissan 350Z. My nissan dealer kept my warranty and worked on my car even when it had a turbo system. Dont know if mitsu will be the same

One of the Saturn dealerships here did the same thing with my old supercharged Saturn.
Guess it all depends on the dealership and how lenient they are toward warranties.

My dealer is telling me I can do a cat back, cai, intercooler piping, even change the intercooler and not void the warranty. But that's it! NOOO MBC and noooo tune! So somebody needs to make a tune that we can turn off and the dealer can't detect. Something on a flash loader perhaps?

Extended Warranty

Did anyone buy an extended warranty?

The dealer I purchased from said they don't sell a "Mitsubishi" extended warranty, and pitched me on some aftermarket one. According to:

http://www.mitsubishicars.com/media/owners/pdf/2008_lancer_evo_warranty_booklet.pdf

There appears to be some sort of extended warranty (Diamond Care Protection Plan) for the 08 evo but I'm not sure what that is.. does anyone here know?

Thanks!
