hey guys im getting dyno tuned at AMS. 2011 GSR, ETS sri, uicp, invidia tbe w/hfc, grimmspeed 3 port, might do an fmic but im not sure. anyway 94 octane isnt always available so im going to ask for a conservative tune on 93 (since 94 is a canadian thing) so i can run 91 on the same map all the time. what numbers should i expect? keep in mind timing will be drawn back a bit for both octanes. thanks.

if your car is tuned for 93 octane, you HAVE to use 93 if you plan on using boost. if you run 91 on a 93 program and go into boost, you looking to get a window in your motor for free. if your going to run lower octane fuel, ask for dual maps so you can use both. you can use 93 on a 91 map but not other way around. Im pretty sure Mitch will be tuning your car, just ask him for a tephra mod that you can switch maps on the fly.

Take your car to AMS and bring it home with a smile.

I live within 10 miles of their shop, so I drop in occasionally. I work with Dan any time I have questions and he has been nothing but an extreme help to me every time.

I brought my car in for the first time back in June '11, had a few more mods done and Mitch tuned it. Phenomenal difference in how the car drove. Felt like a whole new car with a ridiculous increase in power and drivability.

Awesome shop, awesome tuners, awesome results.

AMS trip

I'm new to the forum, but have been trolling for some time. I just dumped my 02 Z06 for an 11' X (GSR). I'm super happy with my new car but have the itch for more power. AMS in West Chicago IL is 20-30 min away from me and I plan on having them tune my car. Since this is my first turbo car I have a question regarding driving my car a short distance in order to get it tuned with freshly installed mods. My plan is to install my cat back (Ultimate racing 3" dual) and test pipe (ultimate racing) at my friends house 20-30 away from AMS (car is stock otherwise). I then plan to conservatively drive my car to AMS (40 mph roads). Will I be okay in doing so, or will I possibly " over boost" and do severe damage? Thanks in advance. Like I said, I'm new to this stuff.

I would say you will be fine as long as you stay out of boost as best you can. Upshift early, and don't accelerate hard, I can't imagine you'd have any trouble.

Welcome btw!
