Hell yeah! Congrats, bud! How do you like it so far?
Well with it being -15 degree and the windchill in the -30 or 40 range
I have 'nt really push it to its limit yet, Being this cold, i dont think my tires even has a chance to warm up. The only thing i can honestly say since i only
spend about 1 hour driving my new toy, is that the stereo system really suck.
I dont even come close to my factory 2001 Lexus IS300.But then you're hearing this from a guys who has Focal Components in my VIII.
Ill try to write up a impression of the EVO-X when its warm up around here, but as of now its sad, but it true. I can call my VIII my winter Beater Car

Please comment on sound deadening/cabin acoustics at higher speeds since you seem like a knowledgeable audio guy! If you were to put some nice amp-driven components in there, would you actually be able to hear them at highway speeds? In your IX, I'm sure listening to music at speed sucked unless you had dynamat?

The sound deadening on the EVO-X is horrid, turning the volume up to about 15-20 with the doors and window close, you can still hear music from outside your car 10 foot away, that's if you have the engine off.to me that a lot of waste of sound, When driving at freeway speed, the EVO-X improve alot over the VIII, but you still lose about 40% of the sound vs. parking it with the engine off.

The deep bass notes,I say at about 80 Hz and lower is on par, sound real good. 80hz to 200 seem like its missing something, and if you listen for it, you can hear the back of the car rattle. I think my 1st project will be changing
out the front Component set, with a set of Focal or Boston accustic, and go from there
i think they are the weak link in this Factory Install SSS package.

If you're thinking of deadening your trunk. The Evo-X is going to be a pain in the ass, there is alot of plastic back there, like the battery cover, windshield fluid cover, it preaty much cover the back firewall. There alot of work to be done.

As for my VIII, yes all my doors are dynamated with light stuff. And my trunk i use sprayfoam dynamate.I think in all about 30 lb. worth. In my 8
i can be driving 70 mile per hour on the freeway, with my window rolled down, and can still hear my high preaty well

You got the base stereo right? As in, you dont have the touch screen with NAV? I am wondering if the weak point is the deck or not. You have the sub? I briefly listened to the sub in the test drive vehicle, and thought it sounded hollow. It just seemed really lose for a 10.
