Why do Canadians get f*#ed with shipping costs?

My rant for the day.

Everybody wants a hand in our pockets! Recently, I've been stocking up on parts. Shipping has been killing me and I'm pissed...

BOV Cost: $150 Shipping: $30 Original Quote: $40
Flange Cost: $35 Shipping: $40 Original Quote: $54
Gauges Cost: $245 Shipping: $20 + Customs: $70 Original Cost: $20

Parts Cost: $450 Shipping: $160

Anybody else see a problem?

It is to pay the import charges from your government. Or did you think your free healthcare and giving women a year off -paid- when they have a child wouldn't cost you anything?

don't hate us because we are beautiful... also our shipping costs suck balls and i'm pretty sure the BC coast is as close to Japan/China etc as the Cali coast and the maritimes to the American East coast. I can't figure out why we get screwed over in the shipping department.

I'm lucky I'm in a border town and have family 5 mins away in the u.s. I ship my stuff there drive 10 minutes later I'm home. And saved a bundle.
Plus I declare all the parts
It just sucks when vendors will only ship to billing address then I'm on the same boat as the rest of us Canadians.
yeah i had buyers from canada and shipping is always high
Here is a tip to all USA vendors and guys selling tO Canadians

Stop shipping shit via UPS.

I just bought a clutch from someone on this forum. Had an agreement he would ship via postal service, yet this tool took it upOn him self to ship via UPS. Not only that he shipped it to the wrong address.

So instead of getting a clutch at a discount rate I paid $70 in import fees on top of the shipping price.

FML.

Stop shipping shit here via UPS it's a fucking nightmare, best part is when you not home and UPS misses you three times the send the product back to where it was sent from then they bill the vendor.

Tip for Canadians - give up. Accept you're our bitch. Become the 53rd state (Mexico and Puerto Rico lol). Then shipping won't be a problem. And you can teach us about fur coats. And hockey. Scratch that, you don't win at hockey anymore. ;););)

At least Canada isn't over a trillion dollars in debt....this is probably because of all the shipping we have to pay to get the same stuff.

How does a country even get that far in debt while exploiting every other country in the world for what they have?
