today driving to and from work i detected a faint to light squeek squeek squeek sound. it sounded as if its comming from the passenger front. the sounds only appears when im in 5th gear going 40mph. my car has about 7850 miles on it. could this be my break pads?
when i applied light brakes it goes away. and when im giving just little gas it goes away. what could this be???

seriously it does sound like a mouse. but like i said the sound is light and can be heard going 40mph in 5th gear. Im an SST btw if that makes a difference

ANYONE ELSE HAVE ANY IDEA. im very anal when it comes to hearing sounds im not used to in a car.

ive heard some people saying that they didnt change their pads til 50k. I started getting squeeking in my pads a couple of weeks ago. It rained this past week and the squeek seems to have gone away. I think you might have an accumulation of brake dust on your brakes. Have you washed your car lately?

i wash me car about 3-4 times a week depending on the weather

you can always take a wheel off and just check how much pad you have left.
