Winter Project Progress - Stripping the FQ360

The winter project to shed some weight from my Evo X track day car has been going for two days here in the UK.

The car started as a genuine UK Evo X FQ360, which I took off the road last year and slowly I have been ripping it to bits :mhihi:

So this is what it looked like before I started last week.

Then we moved the car into the barn and started stripping it.

So that's how far we have got in two days. The seats and all the interior removed including carpets, roof lining, air bags the lot.

A friend has made me a replacement alloy towing eye from a piece of billet, this was hand made not cnc or anything like that, but I love it.

I am gathering a big box of bits, like this X FQ360 hand brake cover.

Soon I will have a whole load of stuff I will be selling, like the half leather X FQ360 front seats, door cards and other trinkets from the FQ360 specific build. But more on that later.

Tomorrow we hope to start on the doors, stripping them out and eventually fitting polycarbonate windows.

Of course I'll let you know how it goes. It has taken a leap of courage to rip out such a nice car, but it will be worth it in the end.

I am trying to get some super lightweight glassfibre seat shells made bespoke at about 4kg each.

We start on the doors tomorrow morning, now I am scared. They look so sweet, and I am about to butcher them :duh:

Here goes......
