I assume warranty is out of the question? It is under Federal Emissions Warranty and it shouldn't just die on you.

Mine old ECU is locked, I think my issue stumped Tactrix's Support team. I am going to speak with the owner on Wednesday to help me trouble shoot it. But I am just looking for an ecu for sale really, I can flash the correct rom my self. At this point I am trying to look at all of my options.

Sorry to thread jack but I believe my ecu might have died on me I have 45,000 miles would it be under warranty ?
At least 5 years/60K miles. Provided it has never been mucked with.
In America all current ecu's are covered by a federal emissions 8/80 warranty so you are covered.

yeah i knew about this just wondering if this has happened to anyone w an evo i know mitsu are asses when it comes to warranty.
Well I did it with my Mazdaspeed 3. ECU bricked plus My warranty was red flagged and voided but I still towed the car up in there and got a new ecu. At first they said no but once I told them that it was a federal item not covered or paid for by Mitsubishi for replacement regional manager confirmed and allowed them to replace and reflash the ECU a day later. Good thing too the ECU was 1400 on those cars new plus and hour labor to flash.

That doesn't make any sense at all. First off why would Mitsubishi pay for an ECU replacement in your Mazdaspeed 3? :wtfsign:

Who do you think pays for replacing an EVO ECU? The federal government with my tax dollars? No, it's all paid for by Mitsubishi (for the EVO). The ECU is covered under a Mitsubishi warranty that's mandated by US federal (EPA) law - for unmodified cars only. The US government does not provide any warranty services or funding.
