Hello all, I have been enjoying (lurking on) this site for a while now, but had nothing useful to contribute. I still dont, but I found something that finally yanked me out of lurk-dom.

The Evo X is on pole position as replacement for my E36, but I find the pedals too far apart! How do you guys match revs while downshifting during braking?

The only way I could possible span that gap was to literally have the heel of my size11s on the brake and the toe on the gas. I know, heel and toe, but I dont know if I can get comfortable with this literal interpretation!

Any comments would be much appreciated! Are there any OE quality pedal replacement sets?

Every car I've owned since I dumped student hondas (S13, E36, subie LGT wagon) has had a nice set up. It is odd to find such a driver focused car short in this department.

Thanks again!

Hmmm.. Really?! Oh well.. Unfortunately I wear ski's (size 15) and LOVE the space. I'd definitely go with after-market pedals that would widen its range while closing the gap. Now.. Where to find a good set is a whole other story. Anybody have anything to add as to where we could find those?

I wear size 10 and i don't have problems when wearing sneakers, just have to position my feet just right i guess. I agree they could be closer though. The pedals are even further apart in some other cars i've drive too.

wow, I keep accidentally hitting the break and gas at the same time, I wear 12W. Also, it seems like the clutch is a little high, and makes it hard to left foot break.

I installed racing pedals to close the gap a bit between the brake and the gas pedal from srpracing.com

They fit pretty good and now I have no problems reaching the pedals... I'm a size 11 and I had problems as well... The pedals were definitely more heel-toe friendly in the IX.

I don't have any probs either and I wear size 9. Alot of folks here in Japan complained about the bad initial response of the accelerator (electronic throttle). The factory computer dampens the throttle so it's not as responsive as a cable accelerator. So when you use heel and toe you need to depress the accelerator more than you would with a cable type accelerator. So companies like Blitz released a throttle controller to provide better response.

Thanks for the lead. The price is good too!

I'm just above average height (just over 6 feet) and from my normal driving position I have trouble with clearance between my legs and the steering wheel to heel-toe when driving the X. I just don't seem to have enough room to move my legs. I never had that problem in my integra.
Anyone else run into this?

That's pretty cool! I have no problems with heel-toe in mine... as a matter of fact I don't twist my foot at all. I just sorta slide half of my foot over and it reaches just fine. The throttle response (as SiC was posting about) is another story all together though.
