If you are planning on purchasing an Evo X, will it be your first Evo? Discuss.

As for me, yes, it will be my first Evo. I loved the way they drive ever since I drove an Evo 8, but I just couldn't get into the looks of them.

Me yes, same reasons as you Kooldino, and the wife can't drive stick and thinks the Evo X is much more palatable than previous models.

It will be my first. Was gonna buy the IX but started hearing things about the X so I decided to wait. I have wanted one ever since the VII (not released in the US) but was paying off a car at the time now I am free!! and can't wait...

Yes. Here is the list of cars I have bought new (I'm dating myself here)
1988 Mustang LX 5.0 5 speed
1992 Nissan Sentra SE-R 5speed
2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser GT

I am 41 with three kids, so I need the room and safety of the Evo as much as the performance. I am hoping 0-60 will be under 5 sec and a 1/4 mile of 13.0 or less. I know it will handle great, I hope it will have decent ride and NVH too...

I've wanted an Evo since I got the first Gran Turismo game. Then when I saw the Evo IV on Jackie Chan's movie "Who Am I" I wanted one more. I didn't really care for 7-9, but X...yeah...I must have one.

Yep, this will be my first Evo. It's seriously killing me right now. I was planning on getting the IX, and I would have had one by now but I decided to wait for the X for several reasons.

I love the look of the IX, looks more raw and edgy. But the look of the X has grown on me. Looking at a pic of the X and IX parked side by side, the IX looks outdated by 20 years, lol. but it will always have a soft spot.

Jesus, 5 or 6 more months? are you kidding me :(

So...I'm wondering, if they don't adjust the pricing appropriately for us Canuckistanians - I wonder what it would take to purchase one in the States and bring it back here. I'm thinking it wouldn't be too bad and I'd save thousands of dollars.

I'm in just about exactly the same boat as you Parnelli, all be it from a different Country :)

I'm also 41 with a couple of kids and am looking for exactly the same attributes of room/practicality along with at least the performance capability you've outlined.

This will also be my 1st Evo and totally agree with Kooldino and Bud, ie: I've always admired/respected their engineering and performance prowess, but could never get over the look of the things - that's all changed now with this much more 'grown up' and stylish Mk10 :)
