Sequential transmissions are the cats ass. I have one in my diasio d962r. Push clutch in for 1st gear take off and forget about it. Allows you to left foot brake the car which can easily take off several seconds off a very skilled drivers track time. Im assuming this box works the same. Downshifts require just a blip of the throttle and it slips down a gear, chassis never gets disturbed.
However with all things fucking awesome and amazing, the maintenance is murder. Every year the trans needs to be pulled and the gears crack checked. The ring and pinion has to be replaced every 2500 miles or so. This is speaking of a hewland ftr trans, which is about 15 grand. And its not like the trans is a piece of shit either, if you know who hewland is you know they are the best in the business for transmissions. I would hope.these Aussies did their research on longevity.
Side note. Dog gears are the loudest things on the planet. The engine in my car is a straight pipe rx8 motor basically (loud as fuck). However, the only thing the driver can hear is he whine of the gears in the transmission (super high.pitched too). It sounds awesome but youd be deaf in 5 minutes without ear plugs.
