Front Sway Bar Install - How Hard?

How much of a pain in the butt is the front sway bar to install in your garage? How long is this going to take me?

It appears you need to drop the sub frame, disconnect steering shaft, disconnect all the engine brace bolts to install the front sway bar? Has anyone installed the front sway bar at home using a floor jack?

I was reading the install from Hotchkis. Should I wait for the suspension shop do the front sway bar when they do the alignment for the springs? The rear looks pretty simple.

Thanks for the input.

The rear takes about 10 mins in the driveway. The front is a PITA. I took mine to a lift and did it with one other person and was done in about 3 hours from start to stop. You DONT have to disconnect the steering shaft. I dont think that I would try this without a lift just because of the limited space that you have there. If you try this at home with a floor jack, report back as to how you wasted your time trying to install this. Im not doubting your mechanical skills, but I know that you are going to wish you didnt attempt it

If you have a motor cradle or cherry picker it would be straight forward if you unbolted the rack from the subframe, then dropped the subframe enough to get the bar out and in. If you don't have either of those, I'd imagine it'd be a giant pita.

It's not to Hard... I did mine in my Driveway by myself.. The only prob I had was the front clip rolled back on me, So when I got ready to bolt it back up I had to use a comealong to move it back into place. If you love your car and the feeling of doing things yourself (and saving labor bucks) it's easy. You do have to unbolt the steering shaft.. Lets the subframe drop easier to get the bar in, especialy on the flat.

Did mine in the garage. Car up on large truck floor stands so I could crawl under. Also removed lower control arms to install RCK. Removed brakes to install braided lines and Girodisc 2 pc rotors. Dropped subframe down with floorjack about 1 inch or so and then you can wiggle swaybar in without disconnecting steering. Even with the parts I removed it's still a PITA. Wouldn't of done it if I didn't have a second vehicle.
