So my wife is like 110lbs she's a shorty also, she's always mentioning that it isn't easy to exit out of the evo's recaro seats. I never noticed since I'm always driving and have the steering wheel to push off.

I was wondering if anyone else has had people mention this?

Also I'm looking at getting the leather package from a local shop and was wondering if it was possible to maybe shave that right side down some. I don't think that it will really will make a difference in the seats performance.

Any thoughts?

Yeah, that's also an option. It's just not postion in a good spot to support exiting in a normal quick fashion.

Thanks for the input.

Ok, tell them to put their leg 90 degrees out first so that their thigh is on the very very flat portion/back portion of the bolster right between the seat back and the chair. Then its a little push off and you're onto that leg. Easy. Plus it doesn't mush the front of the bolster which will eventually grind it down.

I gave a ride to a couple of guys from the local Subaru club yesterday and they were both impressed with the 'snugness' of the seats and concerned about getting out without making themselves look clumsy :D

U can do it the old-school way by opening the door for your girl and assisting with the exit.

I have had several complaints about the difficulty exiting the passenger seat lol. My mom keeps complaining about it whenever I need to give her a ride. My younger brother weighs 240 lbs and he really really hates riding shotgun :p

My solution? Send them by taxi. Evo's should be kept light

I have the answer to this as me and my dad where discussing it yesterday.

When I get in my car I put my right leg in first and then slide over into the seat. I think this is how every driver gets into a car.

However, when you are the passenger, you dont slide your left foot in, and then slide over, you usually sit down first, then shimmy both your legs in at the same time. This is why people getting in/out of the passenger side have so many issues, where you as the driver dont.

If you had that passenger get into the car on the driver side, tehy would do as they have always done when being the driver, and put their right leg in first, and then slide in (the steering wheel does help with this too)

I think its just how our brains work, we dont reverse the process when doing it from the oposite side, and not having the steering wheel there to help us, causes us to do it a different way :)

My best friend says every time he gets in my car as the passenger, he feels like the car anally invaded him :)

WOW man, as a driver I don't get in the car left leg first. U refering to that passenger seat right?

I like the Duke of Hazard idea. lol.

I'm used to the "Wow, it's hard to get in!" but when they've gotten in, they quickly exclaim that the seats are comfy. I find that the people that have the least trouble getting in are people between 5'5 and 5'9 who are below 200 lbs.

My friends call the front seat "the anal-izer". All cars that are low or have performance seats have this issue and its just something you either take when you get the car, or dont take and get another one. Im sure there are ways for shops to modify the seat bolsters... but is it really worth it?
