The previous owner of my car bought aftermarket lug nuts that are the acorn style. I was reading something and found out that we are supposed to have the mag style w/ washer on the stock gsr wheels. Am I in danger of my wheels flying off if I don't switch them back to the mag style?

Maybe not your wheel flying off, but the lug nuts are not making good contact with the rim and you run the risk of snapping a wheel stud or worse. So yeah, you should go back to the original lug nuts.
