Just picked up my EVO a couple days ago. So far I absolutely love it!

I picked it up from a dealership nearby with 66k miles, 1 owner and no accidents.

Since it was a dealership that sold me the car they didnt know alot about the mods that were done to it so its kinda been a mystery.

What I know is done to it:
-HKS Hipermax 3 suspension
-Cobb turbo back exhaust
-ID1000cc injectors
-AMS downpipe
-AMS intake kit
-Kelford cams (not sure which ones)
-I believe it has an aftermarket intercooler. Not sure what brand.

The dealership I bought it from said they replaced the turbo on it with a stock one since the old one was aftermarket. Not sure if it was bad or what but I will be needing a tune. Scheduled my tune for next Friday with SpeedFactory.

Current plans:
Planning on just getting it running correctly and keeping it mostly stock. I really want to do a deep clean detail on it but other than that just minor things here and there.

I have some pics but unfortunately I cant post them until I get more posts :innocent:

So I couldnt get my tune done today. Had a check engine light that I thought was from not having a cat but it turned out to be P0017 which is crank and cam position correlation bank 1 sensor B. Had him clear the codes out and hasnt come back yet. Im up to 35 miles on it and still no codes.

Any ideas on how long it should take to come back if it ever does? I did some research and checked the obvious things (sensors/wiring/loose chain) and everything looked good.

Also found out that I have ID1000cc injectors, AMS downpipe as well as some sort of Kelford cam. Going to research and find out how to identify them.

Visors also came it today

So the P0017 light did come back on at around 50 miles. I ended up swapping the cam sensors around. The exhaust sensor did have a bit of build up on it when I removed it from the motor so I cleaned that off and reinstalled both.

Since doing that I have put around 250 miles on the motor and the code has not came back yet. I did call SpeedFactory and get another tune setup for next Thursday at 1pm. Hoping that everything is good. I would like to get to arrive 500 miles before the tune just to make sure that I don't have any issues and lose my deposit again lol. I did order one of those Bluetooth OBD2 readers (actually arrives today) so that I can check the codes whenever instead of running to Autozone and Oreillys to borrow theirs.

Yesterday I spent time installing the OEM visors. Install went pretty smoothly.

I also did pick up a new camera this past weekend. I went with the Canon Rebel T5i so I will be having a photoshoot at some point to test it out. Planning on detailing the car this weekend since its pretty dirty.

Thanks! I love it too! I didnt see very many of them around in Octane Blue which was why I hopped on this one. Whenever I see another evo driving around its usually black or white.

if you have the valve cover off again and have a magnetic dial indicator you could just manually rotate the engine over while measuring a lobe from each side. The lift should be able to identify the cam set.
Ill have to look into this next time I think about pulling the valve cover again.I did go ahead and order a new OEM valve cover gasket just to be safe.

Washed and waxed her today to get ready for a car show tomorrow.

Well...had my tune today. Didnt go as planned. I was able to get the car on the rollers but it just wasnt making the power it should be. He pulled up the dyno sheet of another EVO X with basic bolt ons to compare and there was a big difference. My tuner suspects that there may be boost leaks. This would also explain why my idle still fluctuates. Going to be building a boost leak tester this weekend and see what I can find. :wallbash:

Did some work on the EVO this past long weekend. Picked up a set of Depo projector headlights so I could do a HID retrofit. Ordered a set of EVOx-R projectors and a Morimoto HID kit. While I had the headlights open I went ahead and blacked them out. Came out really nice!

While I had the bumper off I decided to black out the Mitsubishi logo and paint my intercooler (light coat of radiator paint). Really like the blacked out look. Planning on removing my front plate and filling the holes fairly soon.

Let me know what you guys think!

Also I am looking for a set of fog lights but mostly just the drivers side. Mine has 2 broken mounts on it so its kind of flopping around lol. Let me know what you have!

Did some more work on the EVO over the last couple weeks. Installed Hella Super Tones, Torque Solutions diff bushings and rear diff mount. While I was under there I decided to do the transfer case and diff fluid at the same time. Also replaced my fog lights LEDs because for some reason one of the other ones I bought stopped working.

I would add more info and take pics of the install but it doesnt really seem like anyone reads this anyways:rolleyes:
