ETACS, is there a way to reset it?

For starters, there's this thread of mine:
http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70762

Long story short, my car wont even attempt to start. I cant do anything with the ECU while its in the car, but once I bench it, I have no problem flashing it, reading it, clearing DTC's, etc.

After talking to the guys at Tactrix, we decided the common factor here is that it has to be the ETACS causing this issue.

What should I be looking for in the car to remedy this issue? Is there something I can do over the openport or a fuse I can pull? I tried unhooking the battery for a few minutes and then attempted to restart with no luck.

Any suggestions?

check your ecu pins, you could have bent a couple of pins or just a single pin

happened on my pal's ride after he benched the ecu & accidentally bent the ecu's pin while fitting back the harness to it
That did happen. However, since then i've had this ongoing problem.

I've flashed it 4-5 times since then too. It operates exactly as it should on the bench (reads/writes/clears DTCs, etc), but when its in the car...nothing.

When youre cranking or when the key is in the start position, youre sending power to the starter relay. The coil inside this relay is then energized, causing the other contacts in the relay to close, thus sending power to the starter solenoid circuit. Try this: disconnect the starter motor S (solenoid) terminal, use a jumper wire to apply battery voltage to the starter motor (S) and see what happens. If it cranks, you have an electrical problem. If not, the starter may be bad.

Id start by checking easy stuff first like the relay and grounds.

the car is an 08 GSR. I've been through the fuses about 4 times, theyre all fine except for the 40A fusible link that keeps blowing. Thats what keeps throwing me off. Why does this thing keep popping?!

I havent tested the relays, but i've switched them around to where I should be able to tell a difference if it fixed something.

This may or not be safe, but you could just get a good sized wire and jump the fuse and then try to crank. Regardless, you have to find out why the fusible link keeps blowing. Possible short somewhere?

I'll test the starter first. I really dont want to spend alot of time on it. I'm gonna install my oem wheels, exhaust and shifter cage in and have it towed to the dealer.

The blowing fusible link thing is the 1 thing that keeps throwing a wrench into my thought process.
