I just received a letter in the mail from MMNA informing me that 2008 EVO and 2009 Lancer Ralliarts need to have the hood latch release cable replaced because it may become internally corroded, making it difficult to open the hood.

man I'm glad to read this, mine is getting really hard to open. Hope I get my letter soon then!
I wouldnt wait guys. Id just take it in and get it fixed. When mine broke a got a whole shipment of new shiny parts to put on the car. Go to pop the hood and lever breaks. Just take it in its a known problem.

Anyone have a part number for the replacement cable? My nearest dealer is 104 miles away and it's just not worth 5 hours and a tank of gas to get a $20 cable replaced.

they would void the warrenty? it's there recall. Or once they see your mods they will void your warrenty?? if so, that sucks....
if your ride is modded then have to add it to a list when it goes in, even if it's for a recall, I'm gonna get the cable and do it myself as well.
