I agree with hotdog, there's some things I will do and some things I won't do.
I want my turbo port+polished and my manifold ported to match, but will I read some how-to's and bust out the dremel and stock up on cutting wheels and buffing tips for this? Nope. I'm going to give it to somebody who's done this before.
Now as far as unbolting and rebolting stuff back on, that has its limits too. Those limits are different for different people, but swapping out the downpipe isn't an easy task if you don't have immediate access to the proper tools, you don't have a lift in your garage, you don't have a garage PERIOD, etc.
We all know it makes a world of difference to be able to soak bolts in PB Blaster, bang on it a few times with a mallet, come back in a few hours and soak again and bang again, then come back the next morning for another soak and smack, but some people don't have that luxury.
In summary: dif'rent strokes for dif'rent folks.[/quote]
I agree with you there, after spending a day and a half doing my o2 housing/downpipe myself i pretty much determined I absolutely will not be doing that turbo upgrade myself. Just too hard to get the right angles without the luxury of a lift.
