Knock Logs Stage2

The mods are in my sig, Im getting some knock at WOT..heres my logs. is this safe to run in the mean time till I get protuned?

advice plzzz

Wow dude, you have a new issue every other day! Yeah, that log looks like sh!t. I'd stop going WOT until you figure out what the issue is. Are you tuned at all? The issue might lie w/ the BOV, which is simply ridiculous.

Try logging psi and take out unnecessary things......
On a side note, when people are discussing logs they often suggest reducing the number of parameters being logged to the absolute bare essentials. What's the advantage of that? Does the Cobb AP get better resolution (i.e. more data points per unit of time) when you log fewer parameters?

I know I was hitting 25/26 tapering to 18/19. The boost was target range but ill try the lwg map then a 91 oct map. Should I do a 1-3 gear log? Or just 3rd from 2k to red line?

WOW, some knock. im running the cobb stage 2 with a cone air filter, test pipe and catback. my knock is the same with the car stock with the exception of the cobb ap. i see .35 and .7 at wot. sometimes i get no knock and the .35 is most coommon. has this knock just started to appear?

i just did stage 2 last night and these are my logs. before I was getting no knock. well it was like 0.4 and sometimes 0.7 its when I went to stage 2 when I got these logs. Should I try a different map? Lower octane? or maybe a LWG 93?

dude, that is ass. go back to stage one or where you were before. my car worked better with the stage 1 when i had just my catback. stage 2 came to life with tp added to the catback. i know you have a tp, but your knock looks way out of line. it could be back pressure from the muffler. be safe until you get tuned.

the .4 knock you see on your ap is rounded. it will show up on your logs as .35.

well I went out this morning and did 3 more logs.

I didnt read what "mike o" said before going out and logging so I hit rev limiter on all 3 logs... no big deal really. Here they are... do these look better and out of the 3 which one do you recommend me running in the meantime till I can get protuned.

Pretty sure he looked at them all b/c they all look like sh!t. Stop running those maps unless you want your motor to die. Pretty simple.

ive only been running stage2 for like maybe a full hour of driving. ok so the maps arent working well for my car. should I put the pill back in and go back to stage 1? or should I just like an econ map on stage 2?

Yeah, I looked at all of them and every one has issues. I am assuming that you are putting 93 oct in your car. Even when you used a 91 oct map which would pull timing (I think) you still had alot of knock. LWG map, still had knock (So it's not a boost issue) Flash back to stage 1 monitor your knock and if you still have knock flash back to stock and get pro tuned or call Cobb support.

I'm sure Hollywood will chime in here shortly...

It could be bad gas if you have only had it on for an hour.

stage 1 i only had 0.4 sometimes 0.7 never above 0.7 though. I wont be able to put the pill back in till tmrw.. uhm.. if I go easy will I be ok till then? im only going to work. maybe a total of 16 miles round trip.

suggestions?

and yes I run 93.

Ok, all 3 look good to me if you stay under 7500 RPM. I'm not really sure how you are hitting 7800 RPM. Did you adjust your rev limiter?

Honestly, the 93 oct map looked the best. You just barely hit the 25 psi mark. (BTW, turn some of junk you are logging off. Like Abs. Pressure. Boost would make more sense.)
The LWG one only hit 20 psi.

But again, stay under 7500 RPM and you are fine. 3 knock counts up top are not that bad. And judging by the fact that they didn't go away with the 91 map, means it's just noise.

Ok, thanks a ton Golden. I called my tuner and he says it should be fine too. Im assuming its just noise as well but ill still be taking it easy till the protune. ill keep it on the 93 oct map.

I have no idea how im hitting 7800RPM, I havent adjusted anything on the car other than using OTS maps. I have a 2010 X if that makes any difference.. not sure why I would go ABOVE what the map is set for.

Pretty sure the 2.11 is phantom knock from the hitting the governor, just like if you push your clutch in on a pull you will see phantom knock from doing so.

Also log Boost Pressure (PSI) instead of Abs. Pressure (PSI). Log intake air temp as well as hot air = knock. (Heat soaking).

^ Thank you I was just about to say that. If you look at the log, he is fine until he hits the limiter, then it all goes to hell.
