I have been thinking about doing some of this stuff but it is scary! lol. I have the trunk emptied and that's about it for the weight savings so far. QUOTE]

what you also gotta remember is, by removing all that weight from the rear you are really throwing the balance off in the car. The front of the car is heavier (duh...). So thats where you want to remove the most weight, to even out the distribution. Other wise your car could handle worse.

Well the compressor has a bracket which i would assume is, or close to the weight of the new ams bracket. I'm to lazy to run outside and grab my compressor in the trunk and see what the weight is.

Chet how far do the AC lines go? I'm buying the AMS AC delete kit and was looking at the lines that run into the firewall. Where do they lead to and how hard are they to remove?

They go to the firewall where they bolt in. then on the other side it goes from the firewall to the A/C core in the HVAC system (dont bother trying to remove the A/C core until you take the entire dash out of the car.
Is it hard to get to the core to remove the lines? Anything have to be removed to get to them?

Chet, so I just got this new battery installed. It's a Shorai one, Lithium Iron. Had no issues and it only weighs 4 pounds! Saved like 28 pounds over the stocker, and it's still like 8 pounds less than most light weight batteries. Had the car on, idling, high beams on, AC on max, and music going and the battery voltage was very slowly ticking down. As soon as I got the revs up to like 1200+ it started going back up again. So no issues. Had the car idling today at the Auto X course for 45 minutes straight (it was so damn cold) with no issues. Worth checking out! I think they run about 250 bucks, I got mine used for 125ish, but either way, when your current battery goes, look into one of these!

They have 330 CCA's, it's been pretty cold all week and had 0 issues. I've heard with the Lithium Iron batteries, if it doesn't start right up, turn on the head lights for a minute, it will warm up the battery, and car would crank. That being said, I run a thicker oil, 10w-30, and at 30 degrees outside it had 0 issues starting right up =]

where did you get said battery..lol.

Does the steel frame behind the rear seat provide structural support for the seat? Or can it be removed while retaining the rear seats?
it can be removed. I removed mine and pushed against the rear seat and it doesn't move at all. Those frames and the brackets under the seat for a baby seat is 4.8lbs.

Chet what is the best way to remove the crash bars in the doors. Here is a pic of my rear driver door, not sure what is the best way to remove it. I seen in a earlier post that you cut the spot welds by the latch and where it bolts to the car. Does the remove the whole inner panel of the door which then allows you to get access to the bar? If so did you reweld that panel or just leave it off which means you only have the outer shell.

Chet is there a way to remove the wire running to the side airbags? I removed one but after 15mind i got pissed and just sliced the wires. Would like to keep the wires together.
