Oil Change with a Mishimoto Oil Cooler

Hello Everyone -

I just bought my 2013 Evo x MR, and my question may be pretty stupid, but I wanted to be safe than sorry. My car has a Mishimoto oil cooler on it that the previous owner installed, and I want to do an oil change because of ease of mind. None of my previous cars had oil coolers and was wondering do I need to add additional oil due to it having a larger cooler than the factory one?

I did some searching and came up with nothing specific to the evo x with an aftermarket cooler. I do apologize ahead of time if this has been answered and I missed it. Thank you for the help!

Assuming the previous owner filled the additional oil required for the mishimoto cooler then all you need to do is follow the regular procedure.

Measure the amount of oil that you drained from the 3 drain blots, empty the cooler and lines, replace the filter. Now you measure the amount of oil that you removed and add the same amount in.

The engine oil cooler does not normally drain when draining the engine sump. So there is no change in procedure. Drain sump, replace filter, add fresh oil, say 4.5 quarts, start the engine to fill the filter, stop engine and check/top level according to dipstick.
