Big thanks to these guys for a awesome product.. almost ready to install. Overall quality and craftsmanship is superb. 2 drain kits included as well.

These cans look amazing. I wanted to pick them up for my S2k, but then I noticed they are like 270 bucks a piece!

Yeah $459 for the set with drain hoses. Craziness. I would like to have my coolant reservoir back though. May look into this. Installed pics are on their website.

Hey Crom,

Do these include the fittings for the valve cover? If so, what size and which valve cover do you have?

Since I also own a set and have already installed it -

The catch can set is designed for the stock plastic valve cover setup. Its a -6AN on the passenger side PCV and -8AN on the drivers side. The fittings on the can are AN the fittings to the valvecover are pushon hose with hose clamps

Note the hose they included is heater hose - which is not appropriate for anything that deals with oil (it will eventually expand and leak) I will be replacing mine with aeroquip hose.

Nice kit, but for that price it should come with better hoses. The catch can I had on my last car looked exactly like it, and came with steel braided lines and -10an fittings for about 75% of the cost... They are nice though.

I was looking into getting Radium to replace my smelly (but work well) Driven Fab one, until I read that you need to bend AC piping to fit the can on the passenger side...

I would also like to get some feed back on the install.

I've bought and installed them and wrote the review you seen on the website.

What's i'll say is that after a track day it caught a fair amount of crap - so they work well.

Install
- bending line - the power steering line has to be moved towards the motor - literally moving it about 1/2 inch towards the motor to gain more clearance
- I personally hate bending lines because I'm always concerned that I'll kink or break something.
- also getting leaverage in an engine bay is not always the easiest
- what I did was bend it as much as I can, then wrapped the line with hose so that even if it touches/rubs there will be no issue
- AC line - they recommend you bend it - I didn't bother plenty of clearance.

Misc Notes
- I bought two drain kits for both cans - the driver side ones works well and there is room to use the petcock drain.
- the passenger side, there is no room to reach down - you'll have to remove the whole can to get to the drain valve (if you install the drain kit)
- Granted you could run the line straight down to the bottom of the car - and then its really easy to access when you're doing an oil change
- but for me, its easier just to unbolt two bolts and lift out the can to drain. Maybe when I have the car on a lift, I'll install the passenger side drain kit.

In terms of fit and finish and fitment - its is pretty darn good - but I just wish they had posted the instructions online so someone can see what may or may not be necessary. - Note they have posted the instructions now - so that's good to see

Do I think they are worth the cost? - Yes -
Could they fit better? - not really - its super tight, and the two locations they picked in the engine bay is ideal. It would be unreasonable to expect them to fabricate a whole another can that is 1/2 smaller in diameter to clear some power steering lines.

Installed the catchcan today.. good instructions. Wrap the connectors in electrical tape when you wrench them on to prevent them from scratching. I cut the hoses a little bit, i may actually re-cut the lower one again. Bending the power steering line wasnt fun.

Nice - looks great... build quality is pretty slick. Esp when u unscrew the can and the baffling system is a extruded hollow of the radium logo w/ multiple screens.. At that point I was like, ok -this is cool.

Not sure why anybody would buy these. They actually decrease crank case ventilation flow.

Plus I would be concerned about the PCV-side catch can pressurizing under boost and then dumping shit into the intake manifold. There really should be a check valve on the manifold side too...

I def would not downplay a kit due to a $1.50 optional check valve. Its a catch can, its pretty simple., this one is actually designed very well.

- No VTA - track and emissions legal
- no unwanted fumes in cabin
- easy to check and drain.
- Keeps the oem coolant tank.

To me this is win win

That garbage doesn't belong on an Evo. I bought some on eBay once just to turn around and sell them for a couple dollars.

Definitely not an OEM-quality part and definitely not for this kind of application. I guarantee one of those check valves won't last more than a year with acidic combustion vapor flowing through it (that is, it would break down inside and no longer perform any check function).

Or, optionally, you could get the breather filter fittings from Radium and run those while plugging the inlet tube breather and intake manifold PCV ports. I think that setup would be OK if you don't mind the smell.

As far as the check vales are concerned, the thread link had a metal one from anver that looked pretty decent, but I'm sure there are other suitable options out there as well - not a huge deal breaker IMO. .. So basically your reasoning is for anybody over 350whp needs to VTA?... 'Im sorry, I just don't agree. With a properly baffled system, it should do the job just fine...And yes Radium does build race products, as this kit is track legal as opposed to a VTA. I'm not debating the efficiency of a filtered setup... I believe that they both have their place.

I hate to resurrect an old thread, but I noticed this guy talking about track legal..
Are VTA catch can systems like the Driven Fab not allowed on the track?
I've never heard that before and I hope that's not the case. Anybody know for sure?

I know you're actually the vendor trying to defend your product, but you're horribly mistaken.

There is not a single reliable super-high-output turbo 4 banger in the world that has only a single 3/8" breather vent. That vent port is designed for stock ring end gap and stock output *only*. One always needs to size their crankcase ventilation solution with their power output.

Do you know what happens to Evos and Subarus without adequate crankcase ventilation? Leaking oil pans, blown seals, and even blown turbos due to restricted oil return lines under sustained power. The first two of which could even lead to engine fires under motorsport usage.
