Rubbing on 18x9.5 +22 - roll fenders?

Hello,

After some research, figured that 18x9.5 +22 enkei rpf1 is a great wheel for this car. After getting installed, I'm rubbing really bad. Raised the car up and tightened the dampening, but still rubbing pretty bad on feal441.

Assuming I'll need to roll the fenders?

Clearly the rears are to be rolled (huge lip) but my installer told me the fronts probably can't be rolled as there is nothing to roll and would need the fenders pulled by a body shop ... is this true?

Thanks guys!

This is true sometimes you must pull fenders to clear the wheels. Looks like wheel size is fine, what tire size do you have? Sometimes you have to get a less meatier tire to clear fenders. I have the same wheel size but my tires are 235/40R18. The 235's give it a bit of a stretch look but it clears the fenders on my aggressive drop. Also look into getting Whiteline Roll Center Kit. Helps ALOT! I put it on both my Evo's noticeable difference in handling & bump steer when riding low ?

Hello,

Thanks - I do have whiteline roll kit - I think the Feel441 just have a ton of travel compared to my bilsteins with swift springs. Like the ride just feels more bouncy and clearing is rubbing.

I'm running a 265 / 35 / 18.

Yeah maybe it's my tire ... hmm .. bummer. Well I plan to roll my rears (and if possible my fronts) this weekend so I'm hoping that helps a bit. Not sure how I will autox with this setup w/the rubbing.

Thanks for the feedback elivo

I run a 18 x 9.5 +15 offset. My tire is 265/35. I had to roll the rear fender lip, and had to mold the front fender liner with heat and a hammer. But did not have to roll anything up front. You have a bit more offset which will push the wheel out a little more though.

IMHO, a 235 tire will look dumb on a 9.5" wheel. Too much stretch

Yup 235 is a stretch look but if you're running that offset its a quick fix, or change the wheel for a +15 or maybe +20. I just couldn't return my wheels after powder coating prior to checking fitment. Lesson learned. GL OP

I run 18x10.5 et22, tires are 275s on ohlins. I needed to run both front or rear. Also worked over the front inner fender wells. No rubbing on the body, some on the inner fender well under full suspension load. Just make sure to use a heat gun on the paint when rolling the fender lip.
