Seems strange an upgraded turbo can't crack 112mph, but I've seen a handful of stock turbos do 112.
I think some of the mph loss was from me shifting early at 6000 rpms in 1st gear. Getting these SST cars to shift on the 1-2 isn't easy with some power. Anybody that doesn't have a higher powered MR wouldn't understand. Every remaining run bounced off the rev limiter, even if I shifted 500-750 rpms sooner.

Sounds like you could use some adjustments on your tune. That really shouldn't be happening.

Does the car feel any faster than stock turbo? Seems like way to many people in general run the same times as stock turbo as they do with upgraded turbo, GSR or MR.
 
I have a question for everyone that says the lost time for this car is to be made up in the first 300ft. Maybe it is, I'm just curious, trying to learn. Up until the 1/8th mile point I ran a better time but was already slacking in the MPH dept and by the 1/4 point I lost another .2/.3 seconds. I ran my 2010 SE with a stock turbo, stock exhaust etc. The car has a 2nd hand Ingen Upper IC Pipe, a 3 port, and a Moore Auto Tune to a best of 12.772 with a lot of heat soak due to screwing up the the first couple runs. Yes I know the MR is a bit heavier, but I took a car load of people to the track so I didn't take hardly any weight out of the car like I would normally do if I go by myself so maybe I was 100 lbs lighter. Since this race I have since upgraded the Fuel Relay and got a tighter fitting coupler for the UPIC. I did run the car in Auto Super Sport Mode, Trac Ctrl Off-Off, and in Gravel Mode. In my heart I know it is a bit faster albeit inconsistent having the human doing the shifting, still on the fence may try it next spring.

Tune has been adjusted. Yes it feels faster than stock. About 200 whp more than stock.

Why some people are running same times or better than people with bigger turbos could be attributed to many things. Some people with stock turbos are saying "I ran 11s with only 3XX whp blah blah". That dyno # is just a peak number and doesn't describe their actual powerbands or area under the curve. Their stock turbo may do 30 psi peak but won't run more than 20 psi at redline. This yields unexpected ET/trap #'s that a 1/4 mile calculator can't compensate for when plugging in HP and weight #'s.

So in comparison my car makes higher peak HP #'s due to my linear boost curve and mods but may have lower avg HP #'s in the mid range compared to stock turbos cars, which typically get out of the hole quicker.

Wow Nevermind - Don't Flatter yourself with a hijack. There has to be something of value first. There is nothing to be learned from this thread. You either got one heavy ass MR, or the Driver Mod was installed wrong. Nothing wrong with the tune.
 
How much power and what trap speed/60 ft?
12.3 @ 109 with 1.79 60'
12.4 @ 110 with 1.83 60'

Forgot to ask him about his power but I remember he's no more than 340whp.

Can you supply a dyno graph from your last pulls? It would be interesting to see where exactly you're making the power.

No one's beating you up - but your times are waaaay slower than they should be. It's fact that a number of MR guys on stock turbos with a decent tune are running just about the same times you are. I haven't read through the entire thread in a few days and I'm not sure if you made this note - but what elevation are you running at?

Try doing a rev bounce type launch. No launch control and try to time it - that's what John Torres does. That said, you should be able to launch it hard with LC without too much trouble. There's a lady in Australia who has a gutted MR running a 5858 or 6262 (can't remember) and she launches with the factory LC HARD and bangs the shifts too. It shifts like crap as the SST isn't running quite right but she's able to run a 10.46 in it. Kozmic has trouble with the 1-2 shift in their car, but they are running 690whp. You really don't have that high of an hp car, low 12's with the right launch and shifting should be able to carry you to low 12's or high 11's.
 
I had the same issue, shifting from 1st-2nd. Even if I blipped the paddle at 6500rpm, it would still bounce of the rev limiter twice before shifting.

Luckily I have an awesome tuner nearby, TJ at Ziptie Dynowerks(UT_EvoX)
He said this is a common issue with the MR's. He tuned my SST entirely! Removed the 1st gear limiter, fixed the 1-2 shift issue, and a bunch of other TCU tweaks.

After my tune, I would bounce the limiter going into 2nd EVERY time! Now it shifts into 2nd no issues. Just saying...it's all in the SST tuning.

My SST tables are "tuned" via Kozmic and Motion Lab Tuning. The 1st gear limiter is set to 100% TPS except for last 2 values where it linearly scales back.

I didn't have the problem with the 1-2 shift when I was < 300 whp either. It was only after getting to the 420 whp level that it started to occur. The problem mostly exists in manual mode. Seems to complete the 1-2 shift in Auto mode.

All I gotta say is I wanna see time slips on the guy who said he ran 11s on stock turbo. I'm calling bs on that!
 
It wasn't even race gas haha. It was 100 octane, which is still less octane than e85. It was HiBoost and his slips ARE posted
