Makes me want to go full race car build. lol

Although, everything you've done to the X you can do to an 8/9. Imagine an evo in the 2600lbs range.

Correct, but our chassis, awd system, and engine are better :)
I agree, my buddies and good friends I race with all drive IX's and keep egging me to get one. my goal is to beat them in the X, no way am I swapping cars, I love the X. But, I just am short like 10 years of racing time and so need experience to catch up lol.

But doesn't help one guy just raised 30K to dump into a full SM modded IX on 315s with a custom widebody and fp red running 116octane race gas. Probably will never beat that car lol.

But thanks for the info man. I want to shed some weight so that's the real reason I replied, so I'd be subscribed to the awesomeness.

Probably already have this one, but I had to remove the rear drivers side tow hook to install my exhaust. That piece weighs a good amount, and is fairly simple to remove. And I've had the car towed a couple times since removal, so not necessary in any way.

These numbers are just made up. 10lbs, 2lbs, 5lbs. No one really knows, it differs per car and it differs based upon which component of the drive train is replaced. Yes they make a bigger difference, but lets not just throw around completely unverified numbers, we don't want to mislead people.

they don't just make a bigger difference, they make a HUGE difference. Rotational inertia is killer.

However, most people get larger wheels when they go aftermarket, and throw larger tires that weigh more on those wheels. And as tires are the outer most part, their impact on the moment of inertia is greater then the reduction in weight of the lightweight rims. It's obviously no where near as bad as having heavy aftermarket wheels and bigger tires, but will often perform worse then the stock setup in accelertion and braking.

Lol, I wouldnt consider Enkei RPF1's superlight
lol, was just having some fun. You can't argue with the weight of the RPF1's, especially for the price.

I believe he mounted them to the track, but then put a sealant around the edge. So while they are on the track, he will never roll them down.

I don't see why you couldn't tint them.

I'm removing the fosgate head unit this off season but I need something to cover the hole. Do any companies make a cover? Or am I going to have to fab one myself?
I have an extra non-navigation head unit. The nice thing about that is you can just not install the bulky 6-cd changer and just put on the oem faceplate. It's what I'm planning on doing.

I really want to remove my crash beams but I'm pretty sure the next time the front bumper comes off it won't go back on.
??? your post confuses me.

You upgrading your bumper? If so what does that have to do with crash beams?

I put on and took off my oem bumper numerous times without any issues (until the accident of course). Are people forgetting to remove the screws and clips before trying to take the bumper off? I don't know how else you would break that pass through area?
