Stock Clutch Power

What is the stock clutch capable of holding, who wise? I have catback exhaust, and a drop in filter. Looking to get tuned, but don't want to kill my stock clutch. Still have a lot of warranty left on my X, can't put an aftermarket clutch.
Never launch, don't race.

Should be plenty to hold, especially if you don't launch it. The launch is what ruins them pretty much instantaneously. Mine has 41k on it, still grabs like it's brand new. Shit lasts when you don't drive like a dick.

Your stock though? I'm worried that when I get a tune, dunno what power I'll make, that will kill the clutch. I don't drive like a dick, don't launch. I do rip it on the on ramps ect or showing a friend. But that's normal?

I have mods, i have drop in filter, UICP, inlet tube, and a test pipe. Car has a lot more TQ, I swear it's breaking the tires loose in first gear now, but still lacks the upper RPM power. Just falls flat on it's face after 2nd gear. I too am getting a tune with said mods, and have been told the stock clutch will hold it no problem (if it's in good shape). People upgrade when they're over 350wtq, but are also the people that launch their cars. You're not going to hurt anything getting on it, it's really just launching and slamming gears, stay away from that and you'll be A-ok. I don't think there's a day that has gone by, that i haven't beaten on the car through 2-3 gears. Super excited about taking it the Auto-x track by me. That's where it'll shine, especially all that torque, finally put it to good use.

And it should make about 270-290whp with your mods and a tune. These things really wake up with tunes. I'm stoked about getting mine done.

Ohh. Even with the exhaust I feel it pulling much more. Yeah I don't launch, but I do race it thru the gears once in a while.

I also dont want to get a tune, that I can't reflash with the accessport. Because I'm only at 12k miles and like my warranty. Exhaust and drop In my dealer Is cool with. So tune an accessport or buy the Perrin maps..?

You'll be straight with a tune. You can't really guess when your clutch is going to die could be defective or something else could be wrong with it but honestly with a tune as long as you don't launch it like 100 times you should be fine.

:+1: People are running stock clutch with FPGreens with no issue, it's more about launching and riding the clutch than its capability to hold power (I'm at 23k on stock clutch with current mods)

My buddy is making 444whp and 337wtq on stock clutch.

I currently have 51k on my stock clutch. Many of those miles with the mods in my signature installed.

As long as you aren't abusing the clutch already, I don't think a tune is going to push your car's power level past what the stock clutch can handle.
