I know this might be a noob post and ive done some research but I'm trying to figure out what other parts I need to get to 350whp. Im stock stockpiling parts for this up comin summer. So far this is what I have.

Ets uicp & licp
Ets 3.5 intercooler
K&N intake and filter.

I know I need a turbo back exhuast but I'm still trying to figure out while dual exit sounds the best without being to to loud. As for parts I notice some peopl say cams or injectors? Do any of these to significantly decrease mpg (dont judge me Iol) your suggestions would be greatly appreciated. What else am I missing?

test pipe
*full flowing* cat back
intake
3 port

can do 350 on 93

for ease of tuning:

any boost gauge
LC-1 2.5mm wired into the openport for awesome SD card logging

cheers

i know a evo that has a top speed exhaust and its really loud... the bov is not just for sound... under high boost anything 25lbs or greater i would recommend getting a bov over the stock one. this will help with high rpm boost flutter and it will also help with reducing the chance of back spooling a turbo by releasing the boost... thats the woosh sound your talking about.

Cause we told you so. Do I need to call you and tell you over the phone? I know you cant read, since you didnt read the stickies or mod threads that have been covered 100000000000X?

Whats wrong with a down pipe?
Nothing. We are responding based on your thread topic question. ITS NOT NEEDED.

Why not a turbo? Well it wouldnt hurt but for your goals YOU DONT NEED IT.

Why not Fueling mods?
Well it wouldnt hurt, but since you arent running E85 YOU DONT NEED IT.

ARE YOU EATING PAINT CHIPS?

you have 38 posts so ill take it easy on you .... thats not good advice ... a downpipe is not worth it ... if everythings goes right a full downpipe install is about 3 hours ... its more likely that shit will go wrong... some people have spent 7+ hours on the downpipe for what will most likely be single digit gains. there for its not at all "worth it with a tune" when it is worth it is when your going e85 or swapping turbos.

this is all for a full downpipe, the "half downpipe" that bolts on at the spring bolts is even more useless...

how good was the tune before ... for the most part tunes get better as sessions progress they dont get worse (a good tuner) butby all means post them ..

test pipe/hfc (with tune) is the biggest difference

and i have seen the slighty better spool ... but again your nickle and diming your self... is it really worth the pain in the dick to replace the downpipe for a gain you will not notice ..

Subaru's benefit greatly from a turbo back exhaust due to the terrible design of the factory downpipe (flat plate directly in front of the wastegate and a cat) I had an 07 and I believe older evos had cats in there downpipes as well (not a 100% on that) which would make replacing them beniftial to power ... On the x's its just a cast section and a tube no real restrictions to a stock turbo

350 depends on dyno. But boltons only got me to 335 on a Dynapack. I had

ETS intake
UR exhaust and test pipe
UICP
RRE 3 port

Then when I went for my E85 tune I added 1200cc injectors, bigger fuel pump and AMS IC. That got me to about 344 on the 91 tune and 397 on the E85 tune.

So from my experience 350 might take cams or E. But it really depends on the Dyno and in the end it's just a number. It's how fast the car feels to YOU that matters.

Power is a funny thing. To some a stock Evo is fast, others need 500hp. Personally I wasn't sure my Evo was fast after the E85 tune until I beat a v8 M3 pretty badly. Then it seemed fast to me. Lol Mind over matter I guess.
